Matamata Swifts
Matamata Swifts AFC was formed in 1930 and spent 16 seasons in the lower divisions of the Northern League from the 1980s onwards, before settling back into the Waikato competition at the start of the 1999 season. It re-entered the northern league in 2010 after winning the Waikato-BOP League in 2009, but in 2013 opted to revert to federation competition.
Since the late 90s Matamata has had a strong presence in football publications, both in printed and electronic form, largely through the input of Dwayne Barlow. More examples of Matamata publications pending.
