1990 Northern League Division 3
Cover shows Paul Cragg, a university lecturer and lower league Unicol team manager, with a sketch drawn of him by one of his pupils during a lecture. An article inside marks his retirement from playing:
It is often argued within the club that lecturers, like schoolteachers, make poor soccer players. But meet Paul Cragg, the messiah from management studies; the lecturer who put the foot back into football, the sock back into soccer, the man back into management, the ball back into bald.
Paul has been missed on field for Unicol this season. A home match against Otorohanga last year proved to be his Waterloo, when a kick in the head resulted in serious concussion and he is now not allowed to head the ball any more. Asking paul not to head the ball is like like asking Lloyd Price not to use his hands, Noel Stowers not to dribble, Garron Smith not to eat, Joe Fraser not to get injured, Gary Steele not to step over the ball, Peter Smith to sleep only indoors, Tony Wilkinson to stay home at night, and Eddy van der Weerd to only drink a lot. it's not possible, and so ends a soccer career in full bloom..."

Extract from the editorial from president Peter Phipps...
"At the AGM we will also be discussing the future of Unicol on campus. The university has disbanded the group that formally looked after the running of the pavilion and has replaced it with a commercial body. We have also recently heard that our current No 1 pitch is to be built on next year. So we must ask "Are the university only providing an academic institution or are they wanting to provide a whole life experience by providing sport and cultural activities?".
Unicol: Rupert Gordon-Watkins, Mark Renner, Richard Coles, Hamish Saunders, Steve Bland, David Hannam, Adam Raines, Greg Davies, Grant Treloar, Campbell Vette, Gary Veysi, Aaron Agnew, Darrel Thomas, Craig Farmer, Hayden McKinnon, Peter Phipps.

Editorial: "There is a bit of a tradition of Unicol prevailing in this competition with soem student passion and parochial support, so it is definitely the day to grab the flatmates and get down to the new No 1 pitch, which is actually the old No 1 pitch, if you know what I mean."
